Bonnet, in a speech, repeated the warning of "Hands oft France." "France will not allow anyone I to touch her Empire, which has | been built by French labour at the cost of French blood,” he declared. “She will maintain intact her sovereignty, and territory. Nobody need doubt this." In a speech in the Senate on February 7, M. Bonnet declared in strong rerms that France would never agree .o handing over an inch of territory :o Italy. He said that any attempt to rarry out such a transfer would only lead to armed conflict. Nor could France allow any foreign Power to threaten the integrity of Spain.

EIGHT THOUSAND ITALIANS STRUGGLE AGAINST FASCISM Received Feb. 27, 8.35 p.m. MARSEILLES, Feb. 27. | Eight thousand Italians met at the [ Alcazar Theatre and unanimously pledged their loyalty to France, condemning the maintenance of a Fascist army in Spain as the greatest danger to European peace and demanding its recall. Those present declared that the Italian claims to Tunisia, Corsica and Djibouti were unjust, adding that they were joining in the struggle against Fascism. In unity between Italian and Frenchmen lay the sole hope of preserving peace and liberty.
