WAITOTARA Miss Audrey Nolan, who recently the guest of her sister, Mrs. I. D. Parsons, has returned to her home in Cambridge. Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Laird (Wellington) were Mrs. J. Laird’s guests on their way to Auckland and Tauranga. Mr. Alf Curry is on holiday in Auckland and Tauranga. He is accompanied by his sister. Miss Pauline Curry, Wanganui. Mrs. Hepplewhite (Wellington) is the guest of Mrs. R. M. Connor, Rangitatau. A recent visitor to Kamo, North Auckland, was Miss Nita Laird, of Orangimea, who spent a month as the guest of Mrs. Jim Peat. Mr. and Mrs. W. McL’Dowie (Matapu) have been the guests oi Mrs. J. Hookinson for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. W. Warren (Kakahi) and their small daughter were in Waitotara on their way to New Plymouth, where they have taken a beach cottage for their annual holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle returned recently from a motor tour of the Auckland districts. Quite a number of girls have left the Waitotara district to take up different vocations. The first to go was Miss Norma Blackie, who is now in the Wanganui Telephone Exchange. Her sister. Dorothy, has gone to the Training College. Christchurch, and so also has Miss Dawn Turner. Miss Dorothy Simson, Nukumaru, has gone to Palmerston North to take up nursing at Maitland Private Hospital; Miss Beth McKnight, Nukumaru, has left to enter the Otago University, and Miss Effie Olsen has taken up a position in a Wanganui transport office. PATEA Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Corbett and Master Terry Corbett have returned from Tauranga. Miss Kitty O’Reilly has returned Irum Mercer. Miss Taylor has returned to New Plymouth after holidaying in Patea. Miss Helen Jones has returned home from the local hospital. Mrs. Corbett, Auckland, has been the guest of Mrs. Ivo Honeyfield. Rev. E. Francis Farr and Mrs. Farr have taken up residence at the Manse. Rev. R. C. Patchett has received notice of transfer to Waipawa and will be succeeded by the Rev. W. J. Henderson, Ravensbourne. Mr. D. Roots, Patea, has been chosen as a Taranaki representative for the district teams’ match at the National Rifle Association's meeting at Trent ham on Thursday. WAVERLEY Mrs. Gordon Hoare (nee Maud Brewer) will arrive in New Zealand from England next month on a visit to her relatives in the Waverley and Waitotara districts. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Elmslie were week-end visitors to Palmerston North, where they were the guests of Mrs. L. G. Loveday. MANGAVVEKA Mr. and Mrs. D. Matson, Wanganui, are visiting Mr. C. Oulsnam. Mrs. A. Warren, Raetihi, is visiting Mrs. A. C. Hall. Ruahine. Mrs. B. A. Bailey, Kawhatau, is spending a holiday in Wellington. Mr. W. L. Wills, Levin, is visiting Mangaweka, for the week-end.
