WEATHER FORECAST
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Sunday, Feb. 26, 3 p.m. General Situation.—There has been little change in the situation and an extensive anti-cyclone remains centred over the Dominion. A shallow depression is located on the New' South Wales coast and pressure is now rising over Tasmania. Forecast.—Winds: Mainly light to moderate in force and rather variable in direction but with northerlies or north-easterlies predominating about and south of Cook Strait and gradually freshening. A change to southerly probably to-morrow over the southern half of the South Island. Seas (N.Z. waters): Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate but freshening northerly winds turning to southerly to-morrow in the southern portion. Seas moderate but rising. Weather: Some morning fogs probable but otherwise fair to fine generally at first, conditions gradually becoming unsettled, however, in western and southern districts of the South Island with rain developing later. Temperatures warm. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine 5 hours 40 minutes. Rainfall, nil. Temperature: Maximum, 74deg. Fahr.; minimum, 56deg. Fahr. Time of sunset to-day, 7.10 p.m. Time of sunrise to-morrow, 5.59 a.m. Phases of the Moon for February:—Full Moon, February 4; Last Quarter, February 10; New Moon, February 19; First Quarter, February 26.
