PHYSICAL FITNESS WEEK DANCE GRAND FINALE. (Own Correspondent.) OHAKUNE. Feb. 25. There was a large attendance at the Majestic Hall, Ohakune, where the dance which brought the Physical Fitness Week to a close was held. The stage was decorated with dahlias and numerous other flowers which showed up to advantage with a background of scarlet and gold. The supper was in the capable hands of the lady members of the committee, whilst the music for the dancing was supplied by Leckie’s Aces. Miss E. Leckie, Mr. R. Rythm and one of the trainees from the Waiouru Military Training Camp gave extras. At nine p.m. the tug-o’-war was held. There were three heats between men from the land scheme and highway men, the latter winning the final. The trainees from Waiouru challenged the Ohakune team, the first heat resulting in a draw, and .the final a win for Ohakune. The winners of the baby show were announced as follows: Under six months.—Baby Byford 1. Baby Rush 2. Under 12 months.—Baby Johnson 1, Baby Reynolds 2. Under IS months—Baby Brennan 1. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss ■ C. O'Connell, and partner. Spot Waltz.—Mrs., Thompson and Mr. Dance. Among those present were Mesdames Moeller, stiffened net over blue taffeta; King red satin beaute; T. Thompson, black floral crepe; Ashley, brown silk. Sugden, blue velvet; Seyi mour, sea green silk; Franklyn. black ' lace trimmed with red; Soufflot, green floral: H. Dance, white satin and lace: Misses Mavis Deadman, blue velvet; Ruth Gover. blue satin; D. Delamar. lemon radio linen; M. Dillon, green and white georgette; B. I Bankie. London tan shot silk; H. Goile, blue and white silk de luxe; L. Goile, pale blue crepe silk; IL D. Bowen, figured satin beaute: M. McKenzie. lemon taffeta; B. McKenzie, oink satin; G. Rean, flame satin; D. Rean. navy blue satin; T. Eaton, black velvet; M. MacKenzie, green crepe: G. Herbert, lemon taffeta; C. Riley, black net over satin: I. Haveler, blue lace: J. Lendun, green linen.
