CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES

‘ Christ Jesus” was the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, February 26. The golden text was Col. 3:16, 17, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom . . . And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.” Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon were the following from the Bible: “And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. (Luke 7:19, 22).

Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: “Jesus established His church and maintained His mission on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing. He taught his followers that his religion had a divine principle, which would cast out error and heal both the sick and the sinning.” (p. 136
