DAY OF PRAYER

WOMEN OF THE WORLD. OBSERVED YESTERDAY. “Let us put our love into deeds ar/ make it real” was the theme for women’s day of prayer, which was observed throughout the world yesterday. The day began in New Zealand and the Fijian Island and after 40 hours ended at Gambell, on St. Lawrence Island, off the coast of Alaska. Largely attended services were heir in Wanganui at the Trinity Church, w’here the speaker was Miss McLean, of the China Mission and at Knox Church, Gonville, All Saints, St. Lawrence’s, Aramoho. A special young women’s service was held in the Trinity Parlour at mid-day. The first meeting was held in New Zealand in 1927, and to-day services are held in all parts of the world in every language.
