TABLOID REVIEW OF FORM CANDIDATES’ PERFORMANCES The majority of the horses engaged in the eight events to-day, the concluding day of the Wanganui. Jockey Club’s meeting, have recent form to commend them to investors. With a view to assisting in the assessment of horses’ chances in their respective engagements, the following tabloid review of form is offered:—
FORDELL HURDLES. ENTHEOS: Nine starts for two wins, two seconds and one third (on Thursday). Won with 9.8 Cheltenham Hurdles at Feilding and with 10.10 Tutaenui Hack Hurdles at Marton. Last season won Rosebank Hack Hurdles (9.6) at Rangitikei Hunt meeting.
OHANGA: Five starts for a win and a second. Won with 9.12 Patiki Hurdles at Opunake, and second with 10.0 to Red Sun at Hawera. Last season 17 starts for two wins, three seconds and one third.
LADY STELLA: Five starts for two wins and a third. Won with 9.0 Otatara Highweight at Hastings New Year. Fourth on second day. Won all the way with 9.0 on Thursday.
LADY HOARIRI: Unplaced on Thursday in only start this season. This is her first start over hurdles. Last season 18 starts for one win, one second and three thirds.
DISTURBED: Five starts, all unplaced. Last season ten starts for one win, once third. Won with 7.0 Borough Hack Handicap at Hawera winter meeting.
DOCTOR DEFOE: Seven times unplaced. Last season five times unplaced.
DON ERMA: Four starts for two thirds. Made pace at Hawera. Last year won with 9.3 Adamson Steeplechase at Hawera.
SEDGEBROOK JUVENILE LA BRU: Five starts for second, first third and second in latest four. Won (7.11) Fitzherbert Handicap at Trentham (January), then third (8.5) to Beau Vite (7.11) and Aranui (7.7).
MILITARY MAID: Eight starts, one win, two seconds. Won Juvenile Handicap Marton (September). ALLEZ: Twice, unplaced. Fourth on Thursday.

BRUNSWICK HACK VADANOE: Six starts for one win and a third. Led all way with 7.10 in Pahiko Hack Handicap at Otaki (October). WHITE GOLD: Ten starts for one win (with 8.1) at Woodville on Saturday, two seconds and one third. Last season one win (Trial Handicap at Wanganui) in three starts. JOE LOUIS: Four starts, all unplaced. Last season three wins, six minor placing's, in 20 starts. Won (7.10) Glengarry Hack at Dannevirke meeting (at Woodville) and (with 7.12) Tawhiti Hack at Egmont (winter). DRACHMA: Seventeen starts, for one win, two seconds, and two thirds. NOTIUM: Four starts; third on Thursday. Last season -i starts, two wins, 13 minor placings (including second in this event). Won Campbell Handicap with 7.8 twelve months ago.
SPORTING GIFT: Twenty starts for five wins and four minor placings. Latest win (with 7.11) Newmarket Handicap at Pahiatua.
