NEW ZEALAND THANKED MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE [ Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Feb. 23. Following is a copy of a cablegram received by the Governor-General from the British Envoy-Extraordinary and Minister Plentipotentiary in the Vatican City in reply to the message of sympathy conveyed on behalf of the Government and people of New Zealand in the death of Pope Pius Xl.: “I am desired to express to your Excellency the deep gratitude of the Sacred College for' the message of condolence which you forwarded on behalf of the Prime Minister, the Government, and people of New Zealand on the death of the late Pope and to say that the College of Cardinals is particularly touched by the tribute paid to the character and work of their loved pontiff.”
