TAIHAPE BOROUGH
EXPENDITURE ON POWER HOUSE (Own Correspondent) TAIHAPE, Feb. 22. Al the monthly meeting of the Taihape Borough Council on Friday evening Cr. Ryan pointed out that it was going to cost £3OO to 1400 to effect necessary repairs at the power house. The council had to face the expenditure or do without the revenue derived from the sale of electricity. The Mayor explained that the Electric Light Committee was faced with heavy expenditure owing to pastyears of neglect. If the necessary improvements were not carried out as soon as possible there would probably be no power house at all in a year’s time, added His Worship. Cr. Ryan: We might have to spend as much as £5OO on the- undertaking. The Mayor: This work has been accumulating for years.
