WANGANUI WOOL SALE TODAY

OFFERING OF 24,000 BALES LITTLE CHANGE IN PRICES ANTICIPATED. Brokers arc of opinion that the wool market will show little change in trend at to-day’s Wanganui wool sale, the second of the current season at this centre, which is to open at the Opera House this afternoon at

"There is not nearly as much seed in the wool as we expected,” a W,anganui broker said yesterday. "The clip will contain a fair proportion of lambs’ wool, as is usual with all February sales.” Buyers have spent a busy time making valuations in readiness for this afternoon's bidding. The sale has a rigid limit of 24,000 bales, which will mean that there will be a sufficient quantity of wool to make a good offering at the third Wanganui sale of the season on March 30. The order of selling and the individual catalogues for to-day’s sale are:—

Freeman R. Jackson 3804 Farmers' Organisation 3628 Loan and Mercantile 3199 Dalgety and Co. . 1548 Wright, Stephenson and Newton King 5295 Levin and Co. 1784 Murray Roberts and Johnston and Co 1957 Farmers’ Distributing Co. ... 3531 At Wanganui in January 27,265 bales were offered, and 26,387 bales were sold. The average price per bale was £l3 15s 5d and the total realisation was £362,100 17s 2d.
