PENALTY REDUCED
SUSPENSION OF JOCKEY OFFENCE AT HAWERA A penalty of two months' suspension for careless riding imposed on R. B. Ireland, rider of Bumble in the Waipapa Handicap, on the first day of the Egmont Racing Club's races, on February 9, was the subject of an appeal heard by the Taranaki district committee at a special meeting at Hawera on Wednesday night. After the appeal had been heard the committee announced that the sentence had been reduced to 14 days, dating from February 11.
