OHAKUNE NEWS

FAREWELL EVENING. A very enjoyable evening was spent at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. N. McGuire, Clyde Street, Ohakune, to bid them farewell prior to their departure from Ohakune to Ruatiti. Mr. McGuire has been a very prominent member of the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade for a great number of years, also the Ohakune Football Club. Members of both tendered their best wishes to the departing guests for their future welfare and happiness. During the evening items were given including songs by Messrs. J. Watson, M. Moeller, T. Thomas, P. Herk, A. Rzoska and Mrs. Hodge, while recitations were given by Messrs. H. McNamara and H. Davis. A very good “slight of hand” was demonstrated by Messrs. Pearson and Beckham.

Just before a very’ dainty supper was served a handsome gift was presented to the guests who suitably responded.
