THE PATEA BEACH

IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY’S GALA DAY (Own Correspondent.) PATEA, Feb. 22. Owing to uncertain weather conditions, it has been decided to hold the gala day on Saturday next, February 25, on the Domain. At a meeting of the Beach Improvement Society, on Tuesday, it was reported that the Maoris had promised several items and the Patea Band would be in attendance. It was decided to ask members of various sports bodies to form a procession headed by the band, to proceed from the Town Hall to the Domain. Mr. R. Adams was appointed to interview the various sports bodies. An exhibition of resuscitation will be given by the Surf Club. The hearty thanks of the association were tendered the Kakaramea W.I. for generously postponing ‘heir flower show in favour of the gala. Mr. H. Peacock presided.
