Perry and Major Reeves have organised and opened the National Defence League's recruiting compaign in lhe South Island. Addressing a small but enthusiastic public meeting here last evening, the speakers stressed the awful price New Zealand would pay for her unpreparedness if a war were to come to the Pacific. It was unanimously resolved to form a local branch of the league.
