HEALTH STAMPS

WANGANUI SALES campaign ended After running since October 1, the Health Stamp Campaign ended on February 15, and the Post Office figures show that as far as the records have been completed stamps to the value of £5ll 17s 8d were sold in the Wanganui area. The district includes Taihape, Marton, Waverley, Waitotara and other country post offices. This total represents the sale of 61,426 stamps. Of the total proceeds of the health stamp sales for the Wanganui district, £251 16s 6d was from stamps sold in Wanganui by Mrs. L. Eide. Beginning her campaign in October, Mrs. Eide stopped selling on Christmas Eve after opposing of 30,219 stamps. In 1937-38 Mrs. Eide sold 29,079 stamps which brought in £242 6s 6d. The Government subsidises health camps on a basis of the number of stamps sold in each centre and last year Wanganui received £632 for its 1937-38 sales
