TENNIS TOURNAMENT AT WAITOTARA

(Own Correspondent). WAITOTARA, Feb. 20.

The Waitotara tennis courts presented a very animated scene on Saturday, when Fitness Week was ushered in with a most successful tennis tournament. Visitors were present from Maxwell, Kai Iwi and Westmere. The tournament took the form of combined doubled play, Miss Dunbar (Westmere) and Mr. Gubbins (Waitotara), being the winners. At the conclusion of play Mrs. C. D. Handley, president, in presenting thhe prizes, congratulated the winners on their fine performance aijd thanked everyone for their help in making the day so successful. Results were as follow: First Round. —Miss Armstrong and Giddy 6, Miss Darbyshire and Wilson 2; Miss Morrison and Alexander 6, Mrs. Gubbins and Sidde'lls 2; Mrs. Blackie and Birch 6, Miss P. Ross and Lewis 2; Miss M. Dunbar and Sutton 6. Miss M. Ross and Clay tor 1; Miss E. Dunbar and Gubbins 6, Miss York and Feist 1; Miss Bartlett and K. Leahy 6, Mrs. Handley and Thurston 5; Miss Lui and G. Thorburn 6, Miss Makaraia and McKenzie 5; Miss Strauch and Rountree 6, Miss Bethbridge and Wilson 2; Mr. and Mrs. Dobie 6, Mrs. Reardon and Thorburn 1; Miss Blackie and Lee 6, Mrs. Zimmerman and E.
