FLOODLIGHT SPORTS

SHOW NIGHT AT TAIHAPE (Own Correspondent>. TAIHAPE, Feb. 21. A comprehensive programme of events has been arranged for the floodlight sports to be held on show night (Thursday, February 23). Lieut. Haines, sports officer at the military camp at Waiauru. and Major Thompson, waited on the Taihape Athletic Club on Monday evening, and informed the committee that about 25 competitors from the army would be taking an active part in the sports, and would compete against the club on a points basis. The army competitors did not wish to compete for trophies, and wished to run for honour and glory only. The Wellington Artillery Band would be present at the sports.
