SWIMMING
CARNIVAL AT MARTON LARGE WANGANUI CROWD TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS A large number of Wanganui swimmers, from the Wanganui East, Gonville, Wanganui Central and Aramoho Clubs, will journey through to Marton this evening to attend the grand swimming carnival which is being staged in the Marton baths by the Wanganui Swimming Centre. Included among the interesting events on the lengthy programme there will be a relay race for girls’ teams from the Marton District High School and the Maori Girls’ College. Further, demonstrations of breaststroke swimming by the NewZealand champion L. Smith, and of life-saving by the Castlecliff Suri Section should add to the interest of a full programme of competitive events.
Wanganui Central and Gonvillc swimmers are notified that a bus will leave their respective baths at 6 o’clock this evening, and the Aramoho bus will leave at 6.30 p.m.
