TIMARU WEDDING

OF WANGANUI INTEREST BROWN—HAMILTON A quiet wedding of interest to friends in Wanganui took place last Thursday at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Highfield, Timaru, the bride being Jean Mayben Hamilton, only daughter of Mrs. G. Clark, Gonville Avenue, Wanganui, and the late Mr. J. M. Hamilton, and the bridegroom, George Arthur Brown, only son of Mr. G. Brown and the late Mrs. Brown, of Gonville. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. James Baird, M.A., and the church, which was beautifully decorated wit'’

of clarkias, choice pink gladioli and hydrangeas, was the work of old family friends of the bride's relations. The bride, who was given away by her stepfather, Mr. G. Clark, wore a simple tailored suit of pale mushroom cloth, with vestee to tone and small smart toque of the same material. Shoes and accessories were in matching shades. She carried a sheaf of pink carnations and gladioli with maidenhair fern.

A reception was held at the Bay Tearooms, Caroline Bay, where the floral arrangements were artistically carried out. The bride’s mother wore a very smart black matalasse American model frock embroidered in cherry shaded silk, and a small black new model hat with feather trimming and a black fur. Her bouquet of cherry shaded carnations and roses was finished with maidenhair fern. Miss Hamilton, of Wanganui, aunt of the bride, wore a tailored suit of cream cloth with small brown diagonal stripes, burnt straw hat trimmed with brown and gold ribbon and toning spray, and a brown Stonemarten fur necklet. Miss B. Hamilton, of Wanganui, aunt of the bride, was attired in a grey tailored suit with floral Russian' blouse in pink tonings. Her navy blue straw hat was handed in navy, green, and white crepe de chine, and her spray of carnations were in pale pink shades. When the young couple left to spend a short honeymoon in Dunedin, the bride wore an American model rust wool morocain frock, a petrel blue swagger coat with matching model hat. with a touch of rust shade to n'.—gh her frock.
