McFETRISH—SMALLEY.
A very pretty wedding was solemnised on December 20 in St. David's Presbyterian Church, Hornby, Christchurch, when Marianne Elsie, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Smalley, of Hornby, was married to William James, eldest son of Mr. W. McFetrish, Footscray, Melbourne, Australia. and nephew of Mr. J. E. McFetrish, of Wanganui. The Rev. J. Tennant officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was beautifully gowned in ivory embossed satin. The gown was fashioned on slim lines with long flowing train, Elizabethan collar and corsage of silver lame. She wore her veil off the forehead with a coronet of silver and orange blossom. The bouquet was comprised of arum Ijlies and white roses. She was ttended by four bridesmaids, Misses Doreen and Betty Smalley, sisters of the bride, and Misses Eileen Le Page and Daphne Nairn, who effectively added the rainbow touch. They were attired in frocks of floral taffeta —lemon, mauve, green and cyclamen. The little flower girl, Ruth Woodham, was dressed in cream satin. The maids and flower girl carried bouquets to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. James Smalley, brother of the bri.ie, and Mr. Morris Thomas, cousin of the bride. The reception was held in the Orange Hall, Hornby, with a dance to follow.
Mr. and Mrs. W. McFetrish have taken up their residence on Hie Hei Hea Settlement Hornby, Christchurch.
