KEEN PLAY AT BOWLING GREEN (Own Correspondent.) WAITOTARA, Feb. 20. Keen interest is being maintained in the bowling and practically every evening there is a good muster of bowlers on the green, which is showing a much improved playing surface. Several keenly fought Black and White buttons pairs games have been contested, and Messrs. E. W. Lee and W. A. Hurley, the present holders, were well extended over the weekend in a challenge from Messrs. T. Alexander and W. C. Simson, the scores being 13-12. SCHOOL PICNIC The school committee have arrangements well in hand for the annual school picnic which takes place on Thursday, February 23. Ths children are to be taken to the Waverley Beach by cars and lorries, and given fine weather they should have a very enjoyable outing.
