CASES OCCUPY MOST OF DAY (Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Feb. 18. The February sitting of the Magistrate's Court occupied most of the day. Mr. R. M. Wa.tson, S.M., presided, and Mr. L. M. Taverner, J.P., was also on the bench. Civil Cases Judgment was given lor plaintiffs by delault as follows:—Meads Bros. v. H. Downs, £2 Is (costs £1 13s 6d); same v. P. Hansen, £1 12s 6d (costs £1 2s); C. H. Edwards v. C. A. Klatt, £5 16s (costs £1 13s 6d); L. Davies v. G. S. Bremner, £l5 2s (costs £2 16s 6d); J. L. Homes v. C. Elers, £2 17s 8d (costs £1 ss); G. Nicol v. W. Lane, £5 19s 2d (costs £1 ss); M. E. and A. McGregor v. W. L. Bennett, £4 12s lOd (costs £1 5s 6d); L. M. Richards v. D. Brown, £2 10s (costs £1 7s 6cl); J. H. Shepherd v. R. Griffiths, £5 4s 6d (costs £1 13s 6d); Ford and Co. v. Progress Stock Foods Co., £ll 12s 6d (costs £2 16s). Nicol Bros. (Mr. Mackay) claimed £3l 3s Id from Mr. and Mrs. Neeley, of Te Awamutu, being for groceries supplied to Mrs. Neeley before her marriage. Mr. Kells, of Palmerston North, appeared for defendants. Plaintiffs’ solicitor contended that his clients were entitled to judgment against Mr. Neeley as a result of arrangements made for withholding proceedings. As defendants had at no time agreed on the amount they would pay, His Worship considered that £l2 would be a fair allowance, and gave judgment against both defendants for this amount, plus costs £4 9s. Judgment Summonses C. S. Signal was ordered to pay to (he Rangitikei Advocate £6 5s 6d, in default seven days; warrant suspended so long as £2 a month is paid; first payment on March 1. (Costs 15s 6d.) K. Karenga was ordered to pay to G. Nicol £lO Ils 6d, in default 10 days; warrant suspended so long as £1 a month is paid; first payment on March 1. (Costs £1 Is.) Thompson Walker was ordered to pay to H. R. Wilson £lO 10s lid, in default 10 days; warrant suspended so long as £2 a month is paid; first payment on March 1. (Costs £1 Is.) R. Winchcombe was ordered to pay to H. R. Wilson £6 7s Id. in default seven days; warrant suspended so long as £1 a month is paid; first payment on March 1. Traffic Breaches Sergt. T. F. Brenchley prosecuted and Inspectors H. J. Fowler and J. H. R. Semple gave evidence in the following cases, judgment being given as follows:—

For speeding across the BridgeHigh St. intersection I. C. Sanford was lined £2 (costs 10s). E. C.

Browne, who overtook other vehicles on the same intersection, was fined £1 10s (costs 10s>. W. Brotherstone, for driving in a manner which might have been dangerous, was fined £2 (costs 10s). For noL having a warrant of fitness for a lorry J. M. Blair was fined £1 (costs 10s). For overtaking another vehicles when he did not have a clear view of the road. R. G. Jeromsen was fined £2 (costs 10s). Failure to keep as close as practicable to the left cost T. Breedon £2 (costs

10s). J. McClure, for driving a car, not having a driver’s licence to do so, was fined £5 (costs 10s). For a breach of his prohibition order he was convicted and lined £1 (costs 12s). M. J. Hehir failed to drive with due care, and that cost him £1 10s (costs 145.). Failure to stop at Greatford railway crossing resulted in W. D. Willis being lined 15s (costs 12s). N. J. Pritchard, for failing to give way to traffic approaching from the right, was fined £1 10s (costs 10s). Miscellaneous As the result of an altercation between neighbours, an elderly man was charged with assault. Defendant's counsel said that his client had had a certain amount of provocation, and His Worship dismissed the case under the Justices of the Peace Act. In a claim for possession of a dwelling, claimant wishing to get married and to occupy his house, the occupier was ordered to vacate the premises on or before March 28.
