WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
OHINGAITI. The monthly meeting of the Ohingaiti Women’s Institute was held in rhe Memorial Hall on Tuesday afternoon, February 14, Mrs. J. B. McKnight presiding over a small attendance of members. Correspondence was received re Centennial Exhibition and it is anticipated that the institute will be sending work for the display of handcrafts. Competitions resulted as follows: Collection of vegetables, Mrs. A. Sextus 1. Vase of flowers. Miss L. Stent 1, Mrs. W. Miller 2, Mrs. H. Pritchard 3. The roll call was “Noted Inventors” and was well responded to. As next month is the annual meeting, it is asked that all members make a special effort to be present, as it is hoped to have, as speaker for the afternoon, a member of the Federation Committee. Officers for the ensuing year will be elected. The hostesses for the afternoon were:—Mrs. J. Hammond v. Misses E. Hammond and L. Stent. The meeting closed with the National Anthem.
