DEATH OF PALADIN

SIRE OF MANY WINNERS | Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 17. The death is reported of the Eng-lish-bred stallion Paladin, by Polymelus. He was foaled in 1917, and imported from England by the late Mr. J. F. Buchanan, and sired many winners, Chide being his best. Chide and Palatua won the New Zealand Cup, Rabbi the Metropolitan Handicap at Riccarton, and Satrap, both St. Legers. Paladin has been at the stud in many parts of New Zealand, but latterly has been located near Riccarton.
