DIET AT WANGANUI HOSPITAL
— PATIENTS AND NURSES INQUIRY TO BE MADE That a diet sheet be prepared for ' submission at its next meeting, giving particulars of meals served to patients and nurses, was resolved by the Wanganui Hospital Board at vest er- ! cay’s meeting. “If the nurses get as good food as i the patients of this institution, they ; do very well indeed,’’ said Mr. W. Scott: The food in the j hospital is very good, but do the nurses > get the same food as the patients? The committee also con- \ sidered that it was imperative that the day off for nurses should be kept in force, and that a late-leave book i should be kept at the nurses’ homes. \ The committee's report was adopted. “The nurses of New Zealand have ; formed themselves into an industrial j union ana the question of salaries will I in future be discussed by their organisation and the Hospital Boards* j Association," said Mr. Broderick. . “There wiil be a standard rate of pay ’ throughout New Zealand in a short I time,’’ he said.
