MATCH AT HAMILTON RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY [ Per Press Association. I HAMILTON, Feb. 15. Play i.n the match between Sir Julien Cahn’s team and Waikato was confined to the afternoon after 3 p.m. owing to rain in the morning. The wicket was covered and Waikato batted when they won the toss. Aitken and McKenzie only put o.n 7 runs but Aitken and Bright added 50, Bright playing attractive shots all round the wicket for 36. Four wickets were down for 70 and then Skeet and Badeley added 22 before Skeet played on. Everest and Badeley added 18 and at stumps Waikato were 128 for nine wickets.
The spin bowlers reaped most success, Walsh taking four for five and E. D. Smith three for 16. Scores are:— Waikato First Innings A J. Aiken, c Dyson, b Walsh . 16 O. McKenzie, b Phillipson 4 P.
