ACTIVITIES AT GONVILLE The members of the Gonviiicj biancn of the W.C.T.U. held their first meeting lor the year on February 1 in the Methodise Cnurch, Gonville. The president, Mrs. Newton presided, and welcomed all members to a new year of fresh service for “God, Home and Humanity.' I Mrs. Beck led the devotional ses- ! sions from Proveros 3, giving the thought of starting the new year as a journey and how to have the right I provisions for that journey. A quotation was given from tne Psaims, also the texts “in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths,” and “My presence shall , go with thee.” Mrs. Newton read a paper on prayer, giving the thought that prayer travels higher than the world ; and farther than radio, to God Him- , self. Then followed a session of short ■ prayers by members. • ’ The secretary read the minutes ! and business was discussed. MesI dames Newton and Parker were ap- ; pointed to visit new and absent ; members, and Mrs. Britton was elected as delegate to attend the Do- « minion convention to be held at Wci- ; lintgon on March 15. A collection was taken up for Williard Day, and hostesses were appointed for next months meeting. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Newton and Parker. A very helpful and enjoyable afternoon was brought to a close with the pronouncing of the Benediction.
