AUSTRALIAN BUSH FIRES COOL CHANGE BRINGS RELIEF Received Feb. 14, 11.55 p.m. MELBOURNE, Feb. 14. The cool change which has been expected for the last two days brought an end lo the bush-tire danger for the present. Although 40 houses were endangered in various places yesterday only four were destroyed, a change ot wind sweeping the tires back into the burnt-out country. Fire-lighters are still standing by in case of emergencies. An open finding was recorded by the coroner to-day at the inquest on eight victims of the Toolangi lire last month. The coroner said he was unable to say with certainty how the lire began but he was incline;, to agree with the forest ollicers that the lire was deliberately lighted. The total of the tire relief funu is now reaching the £200,000 mark but the claims lodged total £1,000,000.
