Three London trains were involved in a smash near Hatfield, Herts, on January 26, causing the deaths of two people and injuring seven others. A slow train from Cambridge and an express train from the same town were stationary about a mile out of Hatfield when a third train, travelling from Peterborough, hit the Cambridge express.
