WANGANUI EAST COURTS C GRADE MATCH PLAYED THE HANDICAP SINGLES On the Wanganui East courts on Saturday a C grade match was played, Wanganui Club beating Wanganui East by nine sets to three, the rain stopping further play at that stage. Several games in the handicap singles competition were played, with the following results:— Second Round. —G. Hall (rec. 3/6) beat Bingham (owe 30 2/6), 9-8. Third Round.—G. Hall beat Pidwell (owe 40), 9-7. Handicap doubles games resulted: Third Round.—Stone and A. Walker (owe 30 2/6) beat Wells and Hencry (scr.), 9-8. Fourth Round. —■' Stone and A. Walker beat Wilson and Pettit, 9-8. Championship doubles games resulted:—■ Second Round. —L. Tippins and Munroe beat Hawkins and Hamilton in three sets; L. Mailman and Pidwell beat Andrews and Stone in three sets; J. Ward and A. Walker beat Wallis and Tisch, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. G. Hall played well in both his matches and is improving his game.
