JUNIOR CRICKET
WANGANUI ASSOCIATION SATURDAY'S RESULTS The final series of matches in the second round of the Wanganui Cricket Association's junior grade competition were played under unfavourable conditions on Victoria Park last Saturday. Garrison Band beat United by 82 runs on the first innings, Marist B beat Wanganui on the first innings by 49 runs with two wickets in hand, Marist A, after having nine wickets down for 94, added 59 for the last wicket, but Aramoho scored the necessary runs to win for the loss of three wickets.
The best batting performances of the days were recorded by E. Wahlstrom (Garrison Band) 48, and S. Crafar (Aramoho) 47 not out, while bowling honours were won by R. Francis (Garrison Bandi, six for 13, and J. Connor (Marist B), six for 23. On account of the visit of Sir Julien Cahn’s team there will be no junior cricket next Saturday, and the final round opens on February 25. How the Teams Stand. The teams now stand in the following order on the championship ladder:—Aramoho 70, Garrison Band 64, United 56, Marist A 40, Collegiate B 34, Technical College 28.
