To-morrow night at the Wanganui Opera House Stanley McKay’s New “Gaieties” vaudeville and revue company is to commence its three nights and a matinee season. The quality of Mr. McKay’s shows is well known to playgoers of this city, so there is little doubt that a warm welcome awaits the members of the new company. Associated with Mr. Foley in the fun-making are Alec McKinnon, the popular young Scotch comedian, Max Ready and Stella Lamond, the brilliant personality girl. The specialities are many and varied, including that of Geo. Hurd, the greatest juggler that has visited New Zealand since Cinquivalli. Dancing is featured by Scotty and Dolly, Australia’s premier dancing duo, Stella Collier and Barry Ross have the leading singing roles in several delightful song scenes. Vaudeville fans will be pleased to learn that Nellie Voile, the famous male impersonator, is a member of the new show. Others prominent in the various scenes are: San Remos Bros., hand balancers; Snowy Towers, mimic of screen stars; Assam, Rehoe, Souchon and Congo, crazy acrobatic clowns and Gerry Keogh, acrobatic dancer. A matinee is to be given on Friday afternoon at 3.15. Seats may be reserved without extra charge at Dobbs Bros.
