WAVERLEY FUNCTION
TENNIS AFTERNOON (Own Correspondent). WAVERLEY, Feb. 12. Misses Amy and Phoebe Graham were hostesses at a most enjoyable tennis party on Friday in honour of Miss Jean Parsons at “Awatea,” the home of Mrs. A. G. Wallace. The two interesting competitions were won by Miss N. Mathieson, Mrs. Valentyne and Miss W. Train. Beautiful mauve and pink hydrangeas were artistically arranged in the drawing room, where a dainty afternoon tea was served. The many gifts received by the guest of honour proved to be, when opened, useful kitchen utensils. Those present were Mesdames G. H. Graham. C. J. Dickie. S. F. Besley, C. Medlicott, J. Vickers. D. G. Thomson, H. G. Birch. W. F. Alexander, D. Lupton. A. J. Alexander, K. Gibbons, J. G. Alexander, K. Honeyfield, F. Train. E. Brewer. A. E. Symes and Valentyne: Misses Train. P. Simmons. N. and G. Mathieson. M. Dickie and M. Wilson.
