WAVERLY RACING CLUB THE AUTUMN MEETING PROGRAMME APPRO! ED. The Wanganui District Committee last week approved of the programme for the autum meeting of the Waverley Racing Club, to be held on Saturday, April 22. This is to consist of eight races, the stakes being raised by £B5 to £l2OO. The third race on the programme is to be called the Syme Memorial Maiden Race, and there will be a trophy for the Ngutuwera Hack Cup. Following is the programme approved : Westholm Hurdles Handicap, of £125; one mile and a-half. Wairoa Handicap (Open), of £150; six furlongs. Symes Memorial Maiden Race, of £115; six furlongs. Kohl Highweight Stakes Hack Handicap, of £125; seven furlongs. Patea County Handicap (Open), of £250; one mile and a quarter. Waverley Steeplechase Handicap, of £170; about two miles. Ngutuwera Hack Cup, of £150; 81 furlongs. President’s Hack Handicap, of £115; five furlongs. STRETTO FINISHES THIRD RACING AT WILLIAMSTOWN Received Feb. 12, 7.5 p.m. MEI,BOURNE, Feb. 12. Two New Zealand horses in Stretto and Disdain had their first races in the autumn campaign at the Williamstown meeting yesterday, and finished third. Following are the principal results: — C. F. Orr Stakes. (Of £1000; 81 furlongs). MANOLIVE, 9.2, F. S'ncan 1 CARPENTIER, 7.7, Badger 2 STRETTO, 8.3, L. J. Ellis 3 Also: Nuffield, Marauder. Manolivf led all the way and won by threequarters of a length, with Stretto two and a-half lengths away, third. Time, 1.412. Disdain ran third to El Golea and Kanuri in the Marine Handicap,, in which Silver Reign was unplaced. Sir Regent was unplaced in the Wyndham Handicap.
