ROMAN POTTERY
FINDS MADE IN BRITAIN LONDON. Feb. 2. A remarkable group of Roman pottery has been discovered in recent excavations at the Sheepen Farm Site, Colchester. A pit full of unique pottery was found, including a Samian cup and two Samian dishes stamped by Licinus, the Claudian potter. A fine red amphora 3ft. 3in. high, of a rare kind, has been reconstructed. Another vessel is a double handled jug, 19 inches high, and 11 inches in diameter and believed to - be the only one of its kind in existence.
