STRAWBERRY CULTURE

Strawberries appreciate a change of soil. It is advisable to secure runners from another district every few years. Allow plenty of room; it is not too much to leave 18 inches between the plants and three feet between the rows.

Ground for strawberries should oe very rich. If manure is limited dig it in only where the rows are to be planted. Roots of strawberries have a tendency to strike down and tills enables them to withstand dry conditions in spring or early summer when fruits are ripening, saving any diminution in size of berry or weight of crop.
