ANOTHER FRONTIER CLASH

SOVIET-MANCHURIAN BORDER MACHINE-GUN BATTLE Received Feb. 9, 7.20 p.m. MOSCOW, Feb. 8. Ten Japanese and one Russian were killed and two Russians were wounded in a renewed Japanese attack on an island in the Argun River. The Japanese were repulsed after a machine-gun battle. Russia has again protested to Toklo. The former encounter occurred on February 1, when seven Japanese were killed or wounded and one Russian officer was wounded. In this cases also Russja has sent a stronglyworded protest to Japan.
