WEDDING

BRETT—REID A wedding of interest to Wanganui readers took place recently in Lower Hutt, when Jean Merrylees Reid was married to Arthur Henry Brett, formerly of Wanganui. The bride, who was given away by her father, Mr. Donald Reid, was frocked in cream American slipper satin, floor length, and with new heartshaped neckline, and wore a veil over face which was held in place by topknot of orchids. She was attended by Miss Ina Haybittle (Hawera) and Miss Peggy Livingston (Wellington), who were dressed alike in pink marquisette, cut on picture lines with the pointed waistline outlined with deeper toned velvet ribbons and wore eye-veils held in place with posies of real flowers. Joan Liddell (Auckland) was flower girl, and wore a blue frock cut on similar lines, and two posies in her hair. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. George Bourne, of Wanganui, and the groomsman was Jack Reid, of Otaki (brother of the bride). Mrs. Brett travelled in a cream linen suit with navy accessories and hat and wore a fur cape, the gift of the bridegroom.
