WANGANUI CENTRAL BRANCH The first meeting of the year in eon- i neetion with the above was held in I Trinity Parlour on Thursday after- | noon. The vice-president, Mrs. Upton, led the devotional exercises, after which Mrs. A. 11. Duxlield, president, occupied the chair. Owing Io sickness and members being out of town the attendance was small. Letters of sympathy are to be sent to Mesdames Wilson, Siddells, and Beggs. The members learned regretfully of the serious illness of the latter. Mrs. J. Laird was unanimously appointed delegate to represent Wanganui Central at the annual Dominion convention, to be held at Wellington beginning on March 15. A large parcel of warm clothing was collected and taken to the Chinese depot to be forwarded to Wellington for packing and forwarding to China for refugee relief. Mrs. Ron Prince was appointed treasurer in place of Mrs. Robert Wilson who, through ill health, wished to be relieved. Francis Willard Day was observed, the notable djy superintendent reading a very informative paper of extracts from the life of the late wonderful and much-loved leader who was born just one hundred years ago. In connection with her memory, an offering was given towards the World’s Missionary Fund. Mesdames Heatley and McGorrery | will be hostesses for the next meeting. | A happy and profitable meeting I closed with the Benediction. Book Sent to King.
