THE OKEHU TROUBLE MAYOR TAKING ACTION HOSING RESTRICTION IMPOSED The position at the Wanganui City Council’s catchment area at Okehu was discussed yesterday morning by Mr. W. J. Rogers, Mayor of Wanganui, and Cr. O. Hales, chairman of the Works Committee. A statement was later issued by the Mayor that until further investigations had been marie and the inspection of the area by the council next Sunday, every possible sten would be taken to give effect to the suggestion of Dr. Cook, medical inspector of Heatlh. The council has decided to impose a restriction on the use of hoses, because of the exceptionally heavy volume of. water being consumed. The restriction is to a period of half an hour daily and hours have been arranged for the different suburbs. Warning of the likelihood of the restriction being imposed if the consumption of water did not decrease was given recently by the city engineer’s department.
