SPORTS AT RAETIHI
TENNIS MATCH WITH TAIHAPE. (Own Correspondent.) RAETIHI, Feb. 7. During the week-end a team from the Tainape Tennis Club travelled to Raetihi and decisively defeated the local players. Rain prevented completion of all the matches, three men s doubles matches being unplayed. The result was a win for Taihape by 19 matches lo 5, but play was not as uneven as the scores indicated. Several close finishes were staged, particularly in the men’s doubles. Results were as under (Taihape players being mentioned first): — Men's Singles.—J. Le Lievre lost to R. Colthart, 4-9; B. Jackson lost to J. Brady, 7-9; N. Le Lievre beat H. Manson, 9-5; F. Bush beat J. Kilham, 9-5; J. Casey beat J. Mcßride, 9-6; R. Ross beat L. Keucke, 9-1; J. Belk lost to P. Ogden, 4-9; N. Hagen beat N. Mitchinson, 9-6. Ladies’ Singles.—Miss I. Anderson beat Mrs. M. Fowler, 7-4; Miss J. Regan lost to Miss R. Burrell, 6-7; Miss M. Couper beat Mrs. D. Sandford, 7-4; Mrs. Hoskin beat Miss L. Eyes, 7-3; Mrs. Percy beat Miss J. Scarfe, 7-1; Mrs. Holmes beat Mrs. J. Brady,
