MEETING OF SPORTS CLUik A general meeting of the Ohingi.ti Sports Club was heid in the Hall to finalise arrangements ior me sports meeting on baturuay next. The meeting confirmed the appointment of the following officials:—auugc of horse events ana :tjer riuing, .vh. J. J. Waller (Palmerston iNu:«.h), judge of dancing events, Mr. vv. McUcmbie (Taihape); judges ot axemen * events, Messrs. Vv. r. bhaw (Mangaweka); D. Stent ((Jhingaiti) anu S. Stent (Rangiwahia); juuges of track events, Messrs. C. Henderson, P. Brooks and J. Graham; piper for dancing, Mr. Noel Barnaru (Dannevirke). Also the usual enthusiastic and capable band of stewards. The club has acquired the services of Borham’s public address system lor the convenience of the public and Lhe committee, while (J Brien's Ltd. ol Hunterville, have the catering. Mr. A. Chisholm, of Ohingaiti, has a bunch of good active steers tor lhe steer-riding, and this, coupled with record entries in all track events (although entries have not yet closed), and promise of a good number ot horses for the horse events, shows promise of a very successful meeting. The Hunterville Pipe Band will oe in attendance and it is t e hope of the committee to have the automobile patrol to assist in the parking of cars. COMING-OF-AGE IVJITY.
A most enjoyable evening was spent in the Ohingaiti Hall on Saturaay, the occasion being to mark the com-ing-o£-age of Mr. Ron. McCullough. The time, which passed all too swiltly, was spent in dancing, interspersed with items by Misses B. Mclntyre and Y. McGuckin and Mr. Liddicoat, after which all present adjourned to lhe supper-room. Various toasts were honoured: “The King,’’ proposed by Mr. R. McCullough, senr.; “The Guest of the Evening,” by Mr. G. Lindsay; “The Parents of the Guest,” by Mr. L. Ennis. In replying to the latter toast Mr. McCullough, senr., presented his son with the “key to the door.” The guest was the recipient of many useful presents which included a camera from his mother and a gold watch from his father.

Miller, I Crawford, Harrison, B. Buckley, Dillon, G. Mackie, E. Flannagan, S. Parkes, Ellerby, R. Liddicoat, Bowden, A. and F. Russell. PERSONAL. Mr. R. Cousins has been appointed headmaster of the Orangiponga School. Mr. Hayden has been appointed relieving master of the Otamakapua School,
pending a permanent appointment at the end of the month. Miss Phillis Russell, of Wellington, has returned home, after spending a holiday with her relations, Mr. and Mrs. H. Russell. Miss Shirley McKnight, who has been spending her school vacation with her parents, has now returned to Solway College.
