GAMING RAIDS
HARVEST OF FINES FOR STATE CHINESE AND EUROPEANS [ Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON. Feb. 6. Four Chinese and five Europeans arrested in gaming raids on Saturday appeared in the Magistrate’s Court. Ah Wong, aged 54, gardener, pleaded guilty to using premises in Vivian Street, of which he was the occupier, as a common gaming house, and was fined £3O. Michael Joseph Cain, aged 63, labourer, and Alfred Thomas Milner, aged 35, painter, were each fined £2 for being on the premises. Willie Yee, laundryman, similarly! charged to Ah Wong respecting Tara-1 naki Street premises, was fined £5O. Chin Yee Lim, aged 41, laundryman; Giovanni Calvini, waterside worker; Henry James McKenzie, aged
51, cook; Tse Ku Fay, aged 44, fruiterer; and John Tito, aged 37, seaman, were each fined £2 for being on the premises.
