FORCED ON BY CARAVAN

CAR SENT OVER BANK UNUSUAL HOLIDAY ACCIDENT [ Per Press Association.] TAIHAPE, Feb. 4. An unusual accident occurred a miie from Taihape at 5.30 o’clock yesterday afternoon when a car driven by Mr. J. Stellin, of Wellington, crashed over a bank. The driver was accompanied by his wife and two daughters. Mrs. Stellin, who was in the front seat, received a broken collarbone. While negotiating a sharp bend on a down grade, the driver swung wide and the car, with a caravan attached, skidded in loose metal. The brakes were applied but the caravan forced the car on and over the bank, the caravan swerving back across the road being struck by a following motorist. The car, after a fall of 20 feet, came to rest in some trees badly damaged. Inquiries to-day revealed that Mrs. Stellin is making satisfactory progress.
