SPORTS CLUB. (From the “Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent). The annual meeting of the Sanden Sports Club was held on Thursday even ing. Mr A. H. Sanson presided over a good attendance of members. Before commencing the ordinary bud ness the chairman made feeling refer once to the loss sustained by the Club through the death of the late Mr Frank Watkins, and the secretary wadirected to write expressing the svm pathy of ihembers. Jn his report the chairman referred to the success of the last sports meeting. Although showing only a small credit balance, the result was verv gratifying. He expressed his thanks to the various officials and especiullv thanked Messrs L. Stubbs,’ J. A. Cooksby, F. Fisher, L. Cimino, and Major Bose of Palmerston North, Mr S. Amadio (Feilding), Mr J. Brice (Afar ton), Mr G. Watson (Levin), for their help and (assistance. He also expressed the thanks of members to Misses Pennv for providing lunch for the officials. The election of officcis for the season resulted as follows:—(subject to their acceptance): Patron, Air J. F. AL-Kil-vie; president, Air W. S. Penny; vice presidents, Messrs H. Fagan, W. E. Pearce, J. B. Brtidley, C. C. Price, Harris, AV. Brookie, and Dr Watson; hon. secretary and treasurer, Air A. Ander son; assistants, Messrs O. Ellerm anA A. Hickey; executive, Messrs A. H. Sanson (chairman), J. M. Croucher. ]). King, A. R. Drew, with president and vice-presidents; hon. auditor, Air M. E. May; director, Air A. K. Drew; assistant, Air H. J.'Fagan; handicappers: Running, Air L. Stubbs; cycling. Mr .1. A. Cooksby; starter, -Air F. W. Aisher; timekeepers, Messrs J. F. McKelvie and L. Cimino; judge horse events, Mr .1 Bull; judge Highland events. Major Rose. It was resolved: That the Club support the proposal to form the Manawatu sub-centre into a centre with direct representation; that purchase of a mower be left in hands of Messrs H. J. Fagan, J. Al. Croucher and W. S. Penny. On account of March 12, the date provisionally applied for, clashing with Feilding Schools Association, it was decided to make application for Saturday' AdHI 9
