EiiDS “GO-SLOW” STRIKE UNIONIST FREEZERS PUT IN THEIR PLACE VOLUNTEERS TO STAY. (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, Dec. 11. The trouble at Tomoana and Whakatu freezing works, where a “go-slow” policy was adopted, owing to unionists objecting to the keeping on of volunteers, came to an end as the result of an ultimatum given to the men at Whakatu yesterday that they must either increase the speed of slaughtering or be paid off this morning and replaced by voluntary labour. The men fell into line this morning and work proceeded as usual in all three works.
