MR. GATENBY AT SEDGEBROOK.
Mi1. R. M. Gatenby, one of the Liberal candidates, last night addressed the electors at Sedgebrook. There was a fair attendance, and Mr. Wilson was vofced to the chair. Mr. Gatenby gave a short but pointed address, during the course of which ho was several times applauded. On the land question particularly his remarks received general approval, and on the licensing question ho spoke very decisively, pointing out that tho issue was an entirely distinct one to the general election, and it was much to b3 deplored that it was given such prominence in New Zealand politics, to tho detriment of other * real political questions. On the motion of Mr. R. B. Harsley, seconded by Mr. Jack, a vety hearty vote of thanks was carried by acclamation. ■
Mr. Willis will address the electors at tho Opera House on Friday evening. Tho dress circle will .be reserved for ladies and their escorts. •Mr W. G. Bassett will address the electors in the Brunswick Hall to-night at 8 p.m.
