On Saturday, October 28th, wo held a horso sale at Waverley. All classes of good draughts and upstanding hacks sold well.
At Wanganui stock sale on Ist instant wo had a full yarding. Bidding for cattle was better than at late sales, and sheep maintained their values. We disposed of everything yarded with tho exception of a couple of pens of cattle. Pigs sold freely in favour of vendors. At Waverley sale on Friday, 3rd instant, our yards were well filled with both cattlo and sheep. Bidding for oattlo was slow at auction, but, however, we sold the bulk after the sale. Shtep sold in vendors' favour, and we report a total clearance
We quote:— Horses at Waverley.—Best draughts £4:-i9 10s to £45, unbroken draughts (good) £35 to £39 10s, others £20 to £2i'. 30s, unbroken harness horses (good) £12 to £14, spring trap horsts i'.ls 10s to £21 15s, best hacks £12 to £13 17s 6d, medium ditto £7 to £10, yearling draughts (unbroken) £9 2s Gd to £19. . .. Pigs: Best porkers 28s to 325; nedium ditto 24s to 265, light ditto 16s. stores 7s 6d to 11s 6d. At Waverley.—Light- fat cows £5, 18-month to 2-year steers £2 4s to £2 7s 6d, good yearlings to 15-months 31s to 365, mixed yearlings 22s to 27s^ empty heife.-s £2 2s to £2 10s, bull £b 17s 6d, well-bre* Lincoln hoggets (Keating Estate) 19s 4d, good bush hoggets 17.T 6d, medium ditto 16s, small hoggets 13s, shorn wether hoggets (good) 13s 2d aged ewes and lambs (Keating Estate) 24s Bd, Keating Estate flock ewes with 80 per cent, of lambs 245, good woolly fat and forward wethers 21s lOd, Linooln rams 1 to 3| guineas.
