BOWLING.
On Saturday afternoon there was a large attendance of bowlers on the green, when the opening match of the season was played between rinks chosen by the president and vice-president respectively. The scores were as follows :— Rink I.— Hoggard, Rankin, Weekes, and Towsey (skip) 15 v. London, Fountain, Perrett, and Keesing (skip) 24. Kink 2.—Moss, Rowley, Peake, and Cresswell (skip) 21 v. Parker, Stanford, McMurray, and Bryce (skip) 22. Rink 3.—Wilding, Griffiths, Salmon, and Elliott (skip) 3 v. Carson, Sims, Notman, and Lomax (skip) 18. Rink 4,—Graham, Reid, Tuck, and Dickson (skip) 15 v. Miller, Gilbert, Tyerman, and Cohen (skip) 18. Rink s.—Varney, Newoombe, Stewart and G. Paterson (skip) 25 v. Pawson, Clark, D. McFarlane, and Benefield (skip) 12. Rink 6— Bates, Willis, Hatherly, and Rodwell (skip) 30 v. Davies, Battle, Gray, and Ross (skip) 11. The first rinks played zior president, and the second*ior vice-p£esident,.-.the former winning by 134 points to 105. Rink 1 was also a match for the senior feathers, and rink 2 was, played for tho junior feathers.,, x ' During the afternoon the president, Mr. A. Elliott, presented the trophies won last year. The recipients were:— Champion A Singles, Mr. J. Paterson. Champion B Singles, Mr. London. Class \ Pairs, Messrs. Spurdle and Rodwell. Class B Pairs, Messrs. Thorp and Peake. President and vice-presi-dent's trophies: Messrs. Fountain, Griffiths, Hatherly, and Elliott.
