PICNIC AND SPORTS AT WAIKUPA.
The King's (binthday is (recognised as the first picnic day of the season. Waikupa has Ibeen kindly lenit for that day 'by Messrs Tucker ©ros. The grounds are .beautiful in every respect, and the spot is an ideal one for a picnic. Attractions of every description have been arranged, including sports, novelties, tug-of-war, etc. The children have not been forgotten, land a special committee wild arrange races for them. The City Brass Band will render selections 'throughout the day. An excellent luncheon will fee provided for Is 6d, and at the stall everything can ibe obtained at practically <iown prices. The grounds ■have one great advantage, the train will stop at the Okoia railway station, and this makes it easy .to get on and off. Mr Biggie has kindly granted permission tto cross his paddock, which will enable excursionists to go straight on to the grounds. ■» distance of only aT>out 300 yards.. The trains leave, town at .9.37 ana '11.45, loallirig at all stations en route. All those wishing to spend an enjoyable day should make up their minds to go to Waikupa on Thursday next.
